Timothy Janus, AKA Eater X has set a new world record in buffalo chicken wings by chowing down 7lbs 11.5oz.

Janus was at the Isle of Capri Casino and Hotel in Boonville, Missouri yesterday to take part in the World Boneless Buffalo Wing Eating Championship. The Major League Eating sanctioned event had a $5,000 total cash purse and Janus walked away with a cool $2,000 first prize.

The world number six competitive eater was a little relieved to hear that Bob Shoudt wasn’t able to make it to the contest, but hot on Janus’ heels was world ranked number seven competitive eater Ben Monson. Both men had a fight on their hands as they went up against the world’s number one female competitive eater Sonya “The Black Widow” Thomas, who is also ranked fifth in the world overall.

Janus and Monson were neck and neck through the ten minute event, managing to beat Thomas in to third place. The two men eventually went to an eat off in extra time. After a further two minutes of gorging themselves Janus emerged victorious, $2,000 better off, holder of the world championship trophy and new world record holder.
