Two more albino murders have taken place in Burundi, despite efforts taken to stop the craze in hunting albinos to harvest their body parts for black magic potions.

Police in Cankuzo report that a young mother and her four year old son were brutally killed and mutilated by a gang of men armed with knives and grenades. Police Chief Deogratias Ntahompagaze says that the attack took place at the victim’s home at midnight on Sunday.

“The young lady had her breasts cut off and her child had his eyes removed and the tongue cut,” he told Reuters.

Police are hunting for the gang, but fear they will have already fled across the border to Tanzania where traditional healers pay good money for albino body parts which they use in their voodoo potions meant to bring good luck.
