‘Prison Break’ Hottie Cast In ‘The Walking Dead’

Sarah Wayne Callies has landed the female lead in zombie TV show The Walking Dead.

Callies is best known for playing Dr. Sara Tancredi in the hit drama Prison Break. She’ll now be playing Lori Grimes, the wife of the main protagonist Rick Grimes. The show follows a group of survivors in a zombie infested America, and is based on the superb comic book created by writer Robert Kirkman and artist Tony Moore.

Rick Grimes, a small town policeman from Kentucky will be played by British actor Andrew Lincoln. Lincoln has previously appeared in the Channel 4 series Teachers, and won huge acclaim playing Eggs in the BBC drama This Life back in 1996.

The Walking Dead will be written and directed by Frank Darabont, who also directed The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile, and it’s set to premiere in October 2010.
