Vinnie JonesVinnie Jones, the former footballer who has since appeared in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch and X-Men: Last Stand as Juggernaut has been lined up to appear in the pilot for brand new superhero show The Cape.

KsiteTV have learned that the Celebrity Big Brother star will play Dominic Raoul, aka “Gator”. If the pilot is a success Gator is believed to be a recurring character who earned his nickname due to a bizarre skin condition that makes his skin resemble the scales of an alligator.

The ex-Leeds United player will join David Lyons and Summer Glau on the show. As previously reported Lyons, of ER fame has scored the lead role of Vince Faraday, an honest cop who is framed and becomes a costumed vigilante. Firefly star Glau will play an investigative blogger who takes on corrupt cops and vicious criminals.

Other cast additions include Keith David who voiced Spawn in the 1997 animated series. David will play Max Malini, a criminal illusionist who eventually becomes an ally of Vince Faraday. Martin Klebba, the dwarf actor who has recently appeared in an episode of Bones and had a recurring role in Scrubs as Randall will also be joining the cast. Klebba will play Rollo, an associate of Max Malini.

Human Target and Tomb Raider director Simon West will direct the cast, and The Cape looks like it’s shaping up to be a winner.
