Attack The Block News

Attack The Block, the directing debut by Joe Cornish from The Adam and Joe Show has begun filming this week and cast details and synopsis are being revealed.

As suspected the plot revolves around a gang of hoodies who defend their tower block from invading aliens. St Trinian’s Jodie Whittaker will star as Sam, a trainee nurse who gets set upon by a gang of chavs. Sam manages to escape from the gang after a meteorite crashes to earth nearby, a violent alien who arrived with the meteorite attacks the gang but they kill it and display it’s dead body as a trophy. That’s how the film begins, more aliens and chaos hopefully follow.

Joining Whittaker will be a cast of mostly newcomers, but also Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz star Nick Frost. Nira Park who produced both those films will also be producing here.
