Freida PintoCasting for the Bond 23 girls is underway, and Asian babe Freida Pinto is said to already be confirmed.

The Indian actress, best known for her debut performance in Slumdog Millionaire is reported to be picking up a £3 million paycheck to appear as a glamorous and raunchy girlfriend to Daniel Craig’s 007. Joining Pinto could be Tron Legacy and House actress Olivia Wilde. Wilde has reportedly been approached by Bond producers to play a double-crossing UN worker based in Afghanistan, which leads straight into the next rumour that at least part of Bond 23 will be filmed on location in the Afghan capital of Kabul.

American Beauty director Sam Mendes is on board to direct and claims that he plans to reinvent the franchise. Already? Hasn’t it just been reinvented?

MGM, who own the rights to the Bond franchise are currently being sold off to the highest bidder, so any news on the production of Bond 23 might still be a little premature, but if the studios do manage to pull off this bit of casting here’s a taste of what Commander Bond has to look forward to.
