Firefly and Serenity star Jewel Staite has been offered a role on SyFy’s Warehouse 13.
Yesterday SyFy announced that the second season of Warehouse 13 had gone into production and will be premiered in the States in July. The show stars Eddie McClintock and Joanne Kelley as two Secret Service agents who locate and confiscate dangerous “artifacts”. The show is described as a cross between Raiders of the Lost Ark, The X-Files and Moonlighting, and the first season was a massive hit for SyFy.
Following the news of season two’s broadcast date Jewel Staite promptly tweeted that she had been offered a role on the show.
“Got offered a lovely role on Warehouse 13. Wish I could tell you more. All I can say is, you Browncoats are gonna freak.” Staite said in her message.
‘Browncoats’ is a reference to fans of Firefly, in which Staite played hot spaceship mechanic Kaylee. Staite has also appeared in Stargate: Atlantis so is already a big hit with the fanboy fraternity.
