Lena Headey stars in new fantasy TV epic

Lena HeadyLena Headey, the star of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles will play a lead role in a brand new fantasy TV show commissioned by HBO.

Game of Thrones is pitched as “The Sopranos in Middle Earth”, and is based on the A Song of Ice and Fire series of novels written by George R R Martin. HBO have ordered nine episodes plus the pilot, filming is set to begin in Belfast in June.

Joining Headey will be Yorkshireman and Lord of the Rings actor, Sean Bean, dwarf actor Peter Dinklage, who was in The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and Lily Allen’s brother, Alfie.

The show will be written by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, Benioff has previously written X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
