Lawnmower Decapitation

A 42 year old Australian woman was decapitated this morning in a freak accident involving a lawnmower.

The unnamed woman was walking to work when a passing lawnmower hit an unidentified object which caused a large piece of metal to fly through the air at high speed and decapitate the woman, killing her instantly.

Investigators in Townsville are trying to ascertain whether the object which struck the victim was a foreign body or actually part of the lawnmower blades. The driver of the tractor-towed lawnmower has been admitted to hospital suffering from shock, witnesses and police officers that attended the scene have described the injuries as horrific. The police woman who responded to the emergency call told reporters it was the worst accident she had seen in 15 years of service. Witnesses have been offered counseling and all the children from a nearby primary school were sent home.
