Gervais Plans Dwarf Sitcom

Rotund comedian Ricky Gervais is planning a brand new BBC sitcom starring the dwarf actor Warwick Davis. The show will also be based on the life of the actor.

Gervais and writing partner Stephen Merchant have begun developing the show under the working title of Life’s Too Short, named after and based on Davis’ autobiography, Life’s Too Short: The Extraordinary Life and Career of Warwick Davis.

The two writers, best known for their hit shows The Office and Extras are both expected to appear in a 30 minute pilot episode for BBC 2. Davis most recently featured in the Harry Potter films, but will always be remembered for his multiple roles in the Star Wars franchise and a leading part in the 80s classic Willow.
