There’s a rat in me toilet what am I gonna do?

‘I’m gonna fix that rat that’s what I’m gonna do’ is what Kara Weatherman from North Carolina decided to do this week when a huge rat climbed out of her toilet and began running around her bathroom. And Mrs Weatherman managed to capture the whole thing on video.

Weatherman used a toilet plunger and an empty box of cat litter to wrangle the rodent back down her bog. As you can see from the video, the rat was scurrying around the bathroom looking for somewhere warm and dry to hang out when Weatherman scared the little blighter right back into the toilet bowl. Weatherman quickly covers the toilet with the empty cat litter container, it’s not entirely clear why she doesn’t just use the toilet lid.

After giving the box a good shake to make sure the rat isn’t trying to climb up inside it Weatherman takes a peek in the pan and catches sight of the rat’s little back legs going 19 to the dozen as it tries to swim back round the U-bend. As soon as the little fella disappears Weatherman gives it a good flush to be on the safe side.

“I just thank God it went back down the toilet,” she said.

A pest control officer has been called and baited traps are to be set to catch the rat before it crawls up anyone else’s U-bend.
