Woman Forces Son To Kill Pet Hamster With A Hammer

A mother from Warm Springs, Georgia has been jailed for making her son bludgeon his pet hamster to death with a hammer as punishment for getting a bad grade at school.

38 year old Lynn Middlebrooks Geter faces charges of animal cruelty, child cruelty and battery after she forced her 12 year old son to smash his pet rodent’s brains out with a claw hammer. Geter’s son reported the incident to his teacher at school explaining that he had been forced to brutally slaughter his prized pet as punishment for receiving poor grades.

The teacher passed on the information to the Division of Family and Child Services, who in turn contacted police. Geter was arrested and is being detained at the Meriwether County jail.
