An animal rights extremist who stole the body of a dead old woman from a graveyard as part of his hate campaign is attempting to launch a pop career.

Jon Ablewhite was jailed for 12 years in 2006 for his part in a sustained and coordinated attack on Darley Oaks farm in Newchurch, Staffordshire. Over a six year period Ablewhite, the son of a vicar, sent death threats and explosive devices to almost 100 people who had connections with the farm that bred fluffly little rodents for sadistic animal testing.

The harassment came to a head in October 2004 when Ablewhite and two associates allegedly exhumed the corpse of Gladys Hammond, a close relative of the Hall family who ran Darley Oaks farm. Although this has never been proved, Abelwhite was convicted of blackmail after he admitted using the grave robbery as leverage to get Darley Oaks farm closed down.

Well, now that dark period is behind him Ablewhite has been looking to the future. On his MySpace page the bald crooner speaks of his “beautiful home from home” in prison and is trying to flog a few copies of his CDs. Going under the name Vegandia, Ablewhite appeals for like-minded folk to visit him at his “home from home” at HMP Ranby in Nottinghamshire. And if you check out his profile pictures you’ll see a few soap dodgers have even taken him up on his invite.

Vegandia has produced two CDs so far, the track listing isn’t displayed but my fingers are crossed that he’s done a Folk Rock/Gothic cover version of the elusive Macc Lads masterpiece ‘Dig Up Your Dead Granny And Fuck Her Up The Arse‘.

You can contact Vegandia either through his Myspace page which is kept updated by other animal rights extremists, or you can contact him direct at J.Ablewhite TB4885, HMP Ranby, Notts, DN22 8EU.
