Burke and Hare: Doctor Who Out, Gollum In

Former Doctor Who star David Tennant has dropped out of filming the forthcoming Burke and Hare movie alongside Simon Pegg due to conflicting schedules on Tennant’s newest venture Rex Is Not My Lawyer.

Tennant had previously been confirmed to appear in the film by the movie’s director, John Landis but this week it emerged that Tennant would be unable to commence filming as he’s working on a pilot show for NBC.

With Tennant out of the way that left the door open for Nick Frost to team up with Pegg once more, but sadly that is not the case. Pegg let slip on his Twitter account earlier this week that Tennant was being replaced by Lord of the Rings star and Ian Dury impersonator Andy Serkis.

The casting has now been officially confirmed, Serkis will be joining Pegg as one half of the murderous duo and Batman Begins star Tom Wilkinson will also be joining the cast as shady doctor, Robert Knox. And just to add a little eye candy Australian ginge, Isla Fisher has also been hired to play Pegg’s girlfriend. Just remember, Isla Fisher is not soft porn.
