Midgets vs. Mascots Controversy Continues

Midgets vs. Mascots Controversy Continues thumbnail

Actor Gary Coleman has called for his fans to protest over the full frontal nudity scene in his latest film Midgets Vs. Mascots, the diminutive star claims an ugly body double is used in the film and the penis which is shown is a bad representation of the actor’s own manhood, which he says he had no intention of revealing in the movie.

In an interview with E Online! Coleman explains how he suffered a seizure earlier this week, and gives a message to his worried fans regarding his health issues.

“I got 40 years in me yet. I ain’t going nowhere. A lot of these heiresses and a lot of these multi-billionaire people, you know, they’re dying here lately. I don’t understand that. I don’t know why that’s happening. But it’s certainly not happening on my side of the street.” The former Diff’rent Strokes actor said.

The pint-sized actor also calls on his fans to protest against the movie, saying he had not agreed to show his John Thomas on screen.

“I wanted all my fans and all your fans to protest my penis being in the movie, because I didn’t want that. It’s a body double, I believe, because I certainly was not gonna do this. And I heard that the body double is ugly, and is unattractive, and does not make me look good.”

The film’s producers have issued a statement explaining that the controversial penis scene will be staying in the movie’s final cut.

“With regards to Gary Coleman’s displeasure with a scene in the film in which he briefly shows full frontal nudity, the producers of the film have multiple contracts—signed by Gary—which give the filmmakers full rights and permissions to shoot any and all footage, including nudity, during the making of the film. Therefore, we have no plans to remove that particular scene from the film. We met with Gary this morning and he is aware of our decision.”

Adding further controversy to the movie is the allegation that former professional basketball player Scottie Pippen injured a dwarf co-star during the filming of his cameo. A clip from the film has been leaked online showing the 6′ 8″ athlete brawling with a group of Little People after Gary Coleman attacks him with a telephone.

Responding to the clip the former Chicago Bulls player has issued this statement:

“Given the recent controversy surrounding Gary Coleman, the fact that I’ve been repeatedly asked questions about my small part in the movie, ‘Midgets vs. Mascots,’ and a related video posted online which shows me being assaulted by a group of Little People, I want to clear up any misunderstandings.

“In 2008, I agreed to play a cameo role in a movie titled ‘A Tribute to Big Red‘ (now titled ‘Midgets vs. Mascots‘). My role was scripted, and the first two scenes went off without any problems. During the third scene, I was told that four Little People, along with actor Gary Coleman, were going to become angry with something I said and storm off as the scene ends. Instead, they basically attacked me, with Gary Coleman apparently climbing on a chair behind me to hit me over the head with a phone (twice).

“A short fight ensued before I heard the film’s director yell ‘cut.’ As I recall, some of the Little People were laughing as the director explained that the scene was ’sort of like an episode of the TV show Punk’d.’ At that point, I left quickly without a clear understanding of what was going on.

“As for the Little Person who claims he was injured in the attack, I really don’t think I caused the injury or can be held to blame. To the best of my knowledge, there is no action being taken against me, nor am I pursuing any action. For the record, I have never seen the movie and, in hindsight, wish I’d not been involved with it. I simply wanted to make clear my role and position as I understand the movie is coming out soon. I will not be answering any further questions regarding the film.”

Midgets Vs. Mascots is described as a Borat-meets-Jackass shockumentary where five dwarves are pitched against five mascots in a battle for a one million dollar prize over a series of contests including how many insults it takes to get punched in a bar, who can drink a gallon of milk the fastest and who can wrestle a live alligator. Coleman plays himself in the film and leads the team of midgets as they compete to win the million dollars.
