Zoe Tapper in SurvivorsSurvivors, the remake of the post apocalyptic sci fi show created by Doctor Who writer Terry Nation in the 70s is returning to BBC One for a second season in January 2010.

Survivors was originally broadcast between 1975-1977 and was based on a group of people who survive a deadly plague which wipes out most of humanity. In 2008 the BBC recommissioned the show and brought it up to date, 99% of the world’s population has succumbed to a virulent strain of influenza and our group of heroes are left to manage in a world with no society or civilisation.

The show is written by Primeval co-creator Adrian Hodges and stars Julie Graham, Max Beesley and Zoe Tapper of Demons fame. Season one ended with a huge cliffhanger, which is exactly where season two will pick up from.
