Piping The Truth Into Your Brainballs!

More hot news surrounding the movie adaptation of Gerry and Sylvia Anderson’s UFO came out this week.
Director Matthew Gratzner, known for his visual effects work on Hancock, Iron Man and Resident Evil: Extinction, has been talking to Forbidden Planet this week and telling them what’s in store for the remake of the cult 70s TV show.
The first good news is that Gratzner hopes to bag Ali Larter to star opposite Joshua Jackson in the movie. Last month we reported that Fringe star Jackson would be playing Col. Paul Foster, and the plan is to cast Heroes hottie Larter as Col. Virginia Lake, who was played in the original series by actress Wanda Ventham.
“We’ve talked to Ali Larter, who’s very interested,” Gratzner told Forbidden Planet.
“I’ve actually met with her, and I think she would be a great addition to the picture. Lake is very strong and obviously also very feminine, and Ali Larter definitely encompasses that.”
If the image of Ali Larter in a silver miniskirt isn’t already good enough news, Gratzner also reveals that the movie will just be the first of a trilogy.
“There are three movies planned,” he said.
“The first script is completed, and number two and number three are treatments—and numbers two and three are even more spectacular!”
Filming is set to commence in the UK next spring and the production budget is set at a none too shabby $130 million.
For anyone too young to remember the 70s original, UFO tells the story of an underground resistance known as SHADO fighting against alien invaders harvesting human’s for their body parts.
