The world’s fourth greatest competitive eater set a new world record this week by guzzling 2.4 gallons of salmon chowder in just six minutes.

Bob Shoudt set the record at The Slammin’ Salmon World Chowder Eating Contest held at City Crab in New York City on Thursday. Shoudt walked away with $1,000 prize money for taking first place, and officially holds the pro-eating record for non-solid food intake.

The contest was organised to promote the brand new Broken Lizard movie The Slammin’ Salmon which stars Michael Clarke Duncan as a former heavyweight boxer turned restaurant owner. Duncan compered at Thursday’s event.
