TV network FX have picked up season two of the brilliant Southern Gothic horror show True Blood and plan to begin broadcasting in February 2010, as soon as season one has reached completion on Channel 4.

Production on the third season has already begun in the US and will begin broadcasting there in June 2010, which means it could very well cross the Atlantic and be shown in the UK in the autumn of that year.

The show is based on The Southern Vampire Mysteries series of novels by Charlaine Harris, is produced by Alan Ball and stars former X-Men hottie Anna Paquin as a telepathic waitress with a vampire boyfriend. Season two will centre around the investigation into the disappearance of a 2,000 year old vampire named Godric.
