Milo VentimigliaWay back in May we told you about a brand new project from Heroes star Milo Ventimiglia. Ultradome will be a web-based show which pits geeks against each other to argue out who could win hypothetical death matches between sci-fi and fantasy characters.

In the pilot episode Ventimiglia himself will go head to head with co-producer Russ Cundiff to decide which is greatest, Star Wars or Lord of the Rings. The series was due to go into production in the summer, but the project has stalled somewhat when production team, Agility couldn’t get a distribution partner. All that has now changed with MSN announcing that they will be running the series on their Parallel Universe website.

Joe Michaels, Senior Director at MSN Business Development told Tubefilter all about it.

“Earlier in 2009, we launched a website called Parallel Universe. The site came out of a successful experiment covering Comic-Con. We quickly realized that the Comic-Con audience is on our network, so we created Parallel Universe to essentially provide Comic-Con content year round. Mostly, the site aggregates content from other sources, but it occurred to us that there were some original web series that could fit really well.”

“We experimented with The Guild and it was a great fit, so when Agility came to us with Ultradome the editorial team for Parallel Universe said, ‘Perfect! It’s a 100% bullseye’”

Agility haven’t said how many episodes will be produced or whether there will be any more celebrity guests, but watch this space for more news as Ultradome goes into full production.
