Nick Cave is working with filmmaker John Hillcoat to try and bring his latest novel to the small screen.

Cave’s latest novel, The Death of Bunny Munro was published in September and already the Bad Seeds frontman is making plans to turn the book into a television show.

“I want to do a TV series or at least like a three-part TV series. You can go deeper with TV in a way, within actually creating a character. You have more time to live with the character.” Cave told Spinner last month.

And this week director John Hillcoat has confirmed that the project is being pushed forward.

“We’re going to turn that into television. We’re going to try and wake up the BBC and, or, actually Channel 4. We’re trying to say to British television,’look at HBO, I mean what the hell are you doing?’”

Cave and Hillcoat have worked together before, Cave wrote the script and music for Hillcoat’s The Proposition and he also wrote the music for forthcoming Hillcoat film, The Road. Besides the Bunny Munro project Cave has also written another script for Hillcoat to direct as a movie. The Wettest County will be a Prohibition era crime film starring Shia LaBeouf and Ryan Gosling. So there’s much to look forward to from this creative team.

Two workmen on the Island of Jersey got quite a shock this week when an albino snake slithered out from under their van’s bonnet and began wriggling across the windscreen.
Fortunately for Morne Aspeling and James Denton the snake wasn’t a viper at all, but just an escaped non-venomous pet milk snake. The two blokes weren’t [...]
