Mobler

This week saw the 20th anniversary of the 80s classic movie Say Anything.

Say Anything was written and directed by Cameron Crowe and starred John Cusack in one of his greatest roles as the underachieving kickboxer Lloyd Dobler. The plot revolves around Dobler and his attempts to woo the girl of his dreams Diane Court, played by Ione Skye, and is most fondly remembered for the iconic scene where Dobler stands outside Court’s house with a ghetto blaster raised above his head playing Peter Gabriel’s In Your Eyes from the So album.

I rented this on VHS just to see that one scene it was so hyped that year. Well to help celebrate the 20th anniversary of that iconic moment, and the release of the anniversary edition DVD, 20th Century Fox called on all Dobler wannabes to recreate the much loved scene in flash-mobs around the streets of New York. The Dobler flash-mobs were christened Moblers, and here’s how they turned out.
