Psychosis

We were all very pleased here at The Morningstarr* to hear the news that the lovely Charisma Carpenter would be joining the cast of Legend of the Seeker next season. Having been a fan of hers since her days in Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel it was good to see she was returning to some decent roles in the sci fi/fantasy genre.

Her casting in the Stallone action movie The Expendables sounds like a good thing, the over the top all-star line up is getting plenty of publicity and this can only be a good thing for Charisma’s career.

But unfortunately this piece of crap can’t be doing her any favours. Whilst it’s nice to see Charisma getting a lead role for a change, this nonsense featuring Darkness singer Justin Hawkins as a ghost isn’t likely to win her any new fans.

Psychosis is a clichéd psychological thriller that has no sense of originality and looks cheap and dull. Charisma plays the part of a sensitive American writer who retreats to an idyllic English countryside mansion to write her latest novel with her new husband and is haunted by the ghosts of motorway protesters who were massacred 15 years previously.

Don’t take my word for it, watch the trailer and see for yourself. The film might be worth watching just to see Justin Hawkins get brutally murdered.
