The brilliant BBC paranormal drama Being Human is going to be remade by Syfy with an American cast and crew.

Syfy were originally contacted to help produce the first six part series of Being Human but they passed on the offer and it was eventually shown on BBC Three and later repeated on BBC One.

Due to the great success of the show the BBC are currently filming eight episodes for the second series which should be broadcast early next spring, and now Syfy will be producing a 13 part American version of the show which will be ready for summer 2010.

The American version will simply be called Human but will follow the same format of a vampire, werewolf and a ghost house sharing and trying to conceal their supernatural identities. Syfy say they are hoping Human will be a companion to their other original supernatural show, Sanctuary.
