Sean Murphy from Lansing, Michigan has set a new world record by placing 16 live Madagascan hissing cockroaches in his mouth and holding them there for ten seconds.
Guinness World of Records are yet to verify his attempt, but as you can see from the video he seems to have been pretty successful. The current record is a mere 11 cockroaches, and Murphy says he intends going for 20 at a later date.
Murphy initially stopped at 12 and waited the ten seconds so he knew he could set a new record, but he then continued to place another four of the vile insects in his gob hole.
“I’ve never gotten it in one try so that was a big surprise,” he told Lansing State Journal.
“Let’s see if anyone can match that within the next year and maybe next Halloween I’ll shoot for 20.”
