Mad Max director George Miller announced back in 2007 that he intends to start work on a fourth Mad Max film that wouldn’t star Mel Gibson. Sounds like it could be disastrous, and the latest news is that the new Max Rockatansky could be a woman.
E! Online say they’ve heard through the Hollywood grapevine that South African hottie and Æon Flux star Charlize Theron is tipped to take the leading role in Mad Max 4.
The initial reaction to this news has widely been sheer joy at the prospect of Charlize Theron running around the Australian outback in tight leather. I think I have to go with the majority on that one.
Either the gender of Max has been swapped for the fourth installment or Brit actor Tom Hardy will be trying to fill Gibson’s leather boots. Hardy was recently in The Take on Sky TV and also played the lead in Bronson, the biopic of Britain’s most violent prisoner.
