Khagendra Thapa MagarKhagendra Thapa Magar from Nepal is believed to be the shortest man on Earth. Standing at just 56cm tall, Magar is a full 17cm shorter than the current record holder He Pingping from China.

Magar turned 18 years of age on Wednesday 14th October and is now eligible to be entered into the Guinness Book of World Records once his tiny stature has been officially confirmed. The tiny fella submitted his dimensions to Guinness World of Records four years ago but was told he had to wait until he turned 18 in case he continued growing. But he didn’t.

Lin Yih-Chih of Taiwan had also made a bid to be crowned the World’s Shortest Man but failed to get independent confirmation of his 67.3cm height.

“I want him to have a good future. I want him to be educated and live an independent life.” Magar’s father told AFP.

“When he was born he was so small he could fit in the palm of your hand. But I am proud to be his father. He has brought fame not just for himself but for his country.”

Magar lists his hobbies as ‘playing with pebbles’ and ‘worshipping Buddha’, and as you can see from our photo he’s something of a ladies man too.
