Avril Lavigne Files For Divorce

Perky, pop-punk princess Avril Lavigne has filed for divorce from her funny-faced husband Sum 41 singer Deryck Whibley. Strangely Avril never took her husband’s name when they married back in July 2006.

The reason for divorce were cited as “irreconcilable differences” and Avril gave her fans this message:

“I am grateful for our time together, and I am grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship,”

“I admire Deryck and have a great amount of respect for him. He is the most amazing person I know and I love him with all my heart. Deryck and I are separating and moving forward on a positive note.”

Lavigne shot to fame in 2002 with the international smash hit Complicated and the number one album Let Go. She followed up with two more studio albums that were both commercially successful despite the third album being frankly rather shit.

A fourth album is currently in the making and should hit the shelves early next year.

Whibley is currently struggling to knock out Sum 41′s fifth studio album, but he has managed to get himself a new girlfriend. So he clearly still has some money left.
