33% Of Japanese Men Pee Sitting Down

A recent survey by a leading toilet manufacturer in Japan has revealed that 33% of Japanese men urinate whilst sitting down, like ladies do.

This is an increase of around 10% in the last five years. The survey was carried out by Toto who say that in 2004 their survey showed 23.7% of Japanese men sat down to piss, but that figure has now risen to 33.4%.

10% of the men who said they sat down to wee told Toto that it was because their wives or mothers told them to. Others gave excuses such as “it’s more comfortable”, “it stops urine from splashing around” or “it’s easier to clean up”. Most of the men questioned who preferred to stand up to take a leak explained they did so simply because “that’s how you do it”.
