Terrorist organisation the Lord’s Resistance Army founded by Joseph Kony in Uganda have been venturing into neighbouring Sudan to carry out brutal atrocities.
Bishop Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala of Tombura-Yambio has told the Catholic Herald that a band of guerrillas have crucified at least seven Sudanese Christians following raids on villages in the south of the country.
One man was tied to a tree, mutilated and killed. The remaining six hostages were nailed to planks of wood on the ground and then murdered. Villagers who discovered the bodies described it as a grotesque crucifixion scene.
The Lord’s Resistance Army were formed in the late 80s, their leader Joseph Kony claims to be a spokesman for God and his followers believe in a bizarre mix of Christianity, African paganism and witchcraft. The movement are considered terrorists by the United States and have a bloody history of extreme violence including rape, murder and the enslavement of children. Kony himself is wanted by the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity.
