Humble Bob Does It Again

Just one day after chomping to victory at the World Burrito Eating Championship in New Mexico “Humble Bob” Shoudt has swallowed first place at the Harrah’s Louisiana Downs Grits Eating Championship in Albuquerque.

Shoudt had never even tasted grits until just a few days ago, earlier today he gobbled his way through 18.98lbs of the southern delicacy in just ten minutes. Grits are a corn based porridge, or gruel. Yummy.

And Shroudt beat off some stiff competition to walk away with the $2,200 prize money. Second place went to the previous champion at the grits event, Timothy Janus. Third place was taken by the world’s number one competitive eater, Joey Chestnut. This is the second event this month in which Shoudt has now beaten the top ranked competitive eating star.

Fourth and fifth places went to Hall Hunt and Pat Bertoletti who actually tied in the event.

It’s looking good now for Shoudt who appears to be on a roll as we approach the finals of the Krystal Square Off World Hamburger-Eating Championship which will be held in Chattanooga on the 27th September.
