Merlin, the BBC fantasy drama starring Colin Morgan as a young Merlin returns next Saturday to BBC One.
The show does for Arthurian legend what Smallville did for Superman, Morgan plays the young wizard who befriends a young Prince Arthur and is mentored by a mysterious imprisoned dragon played by John Hurt.
Merlin is sworn to secrecy about his magical powers as all magic is outlawed in Camelot by King Uther, Arthur’s father played by Buffy star Anthony Stewart Head.
The show has been a huge international success and was received well when it premiered in America this summer. Now the show returns to BBC One on Saturday 19th September at 18:40. The season kicks of with an episode entitled The Curse of Cornelius Sigan, Merlin must compete with a conman who turns Prince Arthur against him and is forced to seek the help of the Great Dragon once more.
