55 year old Phyllis Bacon from Croydon, South London has taken a remarkable photograph which appears to show fairies living at the bottom of her garden.
Mrs Bacon took a random shot of her back garden a few months ago and only spotted the glimmering wood sprite when she looked back on her photos. She then scoured the internet looking at moths and other flying insects trying to identify the bizarre creature.
After failing to find a convincing explanation for what the figure in the picture actually is Mrs Bacon contacted the Daily Mail and showed them her fairy picture.
“I think it must be a fairy,” she told them.
“No one I’ve shown the photos to has come up with any plausible explanation as to what the figure is”.
The photograph has reminded people of the Cottingley fairies story. In 1917 Elsie Wright and Frances Griffiths who were two young girls living in Cottingley, Yorkshire produced five photographs of fairies taken at the bottom of the garden. The photos were later proven to be fakes but Frances insisted the photos were genuine her entire life.
