Baby’s Toes Chewed Off By Pit Bull

A couple in Jacksonville, North Carolina are to be charged with child abuse after the woman’s baby had it’s toes gnawed off by a pit bull terrier.

Robie Lynn Jenkins, and her boyfriend, Tremayne Spillman say they weren’t aware of the dog injuring the four month old baby as they slept through the incident. All three were in the same room at the time.

Jenkins claims she did not notice the injury until she changed the baby’s nappy hours later. The dog had chewed off all the toes on the child’s left foot.

Jenkins and Spillman were minding the dog for a friend who is currently serving time for firearms offences, the Associated Press reports.
