Landis and Pegg To Make Burke and Hare Movie

News is just breaking that legendary film director John Landis is teaming up with Shaun of the Dead star Simon Pegg on a film about notorious murderers Burke and Hare.

Landis told the news to Dread Central from the Monster-Mania Convention in New Jersey this weekend.

The tale of Burke and Hare is an interesting one, the pair of serial killers clocked up 16 victims which they suffocated and then sold the cadavers to a local doctor for dissection. All this took place almost 200 years ago in Edinburgh.

The question is, if Simon Pegg is lined up to star in the film who will he play? It’s possible Pegg could play the shady doctor, Robert Knox who bought the corpses from the murderous duo. But it’s more likely he will play one of the title characters, which means there is a possibility he may team up with his former Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and Spaced partner Nick Frost.
