Nine Year Old Charged With Rape

A nine year old boy in India has been arrested and charged with raping a six year old girl.

The unnamed children have been friends for years, the Times of India reports. On Sunday they were playing together, as they often did, when they were left alone in the girl’s family home. The young boy dragged the girl into the bathroom and began assaulting her, the girl resisted and was beaten by the boy.

When the girl’s parents returned they found the girl beaten and bloody, a medical examination confirmed she had been sexually assaulted. The boy had injuries that confirmed there had been a struggle as the six year old tried to defend herself.

Police in Indora arrested the boy immediately and he spent one night behind bars. He has now been released after a juvenile court granted bail.
