The Walking Dead Set To Become TV Show

Zombie comic book The Walking Dead is set to become a TV show, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The Walking Dead is a superb ongoing comic book serial created by writer Robert Kirkman and artist Tony Moore. Moore was replaced after the seventh issue by current artist Charlie Adlard. The comic centres on the exploits of Rick Grimes, a small town policeman from Kentucky who wakes up in hospital to find the world is overrun with zombies. Grimes joins a group of survivors and becomes their leader as they struggle for survival.

Television Network AMC, who are behind the brand new remake of The Prisoner have now secured the rights to turn The Walking Dead into a live action TV show. AMC won the rights after a fierce bidding war with NBC, and they have secured Frank Darabont of Shawshank Redemption fame as writer, director and producer.
