Poultry Shears Possible Weapon In Child Genital Mutilation Case

The jury in the Katherine Nadal trial were shown a pair of meat shears which the prosecution suggest Nadal used to cut off the genitals of her five week old son.

A detective from the Houston Police Department took the stand today to give his testimony. The investigator told the court that when he met with Nadal the day after the attack took place she looked like a “zombie”. He described how Nadal had told him that she believed her pet miniature dachshund was responsible for the injury as she found the dog licking at the little boy’s gaping bloody wound. Nadal told the investigator that she pushed the dog away from five week old Holden Gothia and called for help.

The investigator remarked that he found no blood, or bloody paw prints anywhere in the room. What he did find in the bedroom where the attack happened was a pair of poultry shears which were missing from a knife block in the kitchen.

If convicted Nadal could face life in prison. The trial continues.
