A town in Colorado has been invaded by swarms of ladybirds (Coccinellidae), or ladybugs as they are known in the US.
KBMT News were sworn to secrecy over the location of the swarm as local residents didn’t want a huge influx of slack jawed gawkers trampling over their little town. But they did get some amazing footage of the ladybird swarms covering trees and walls.
Ladybirds are considered lucky in many cultures, and gardeners appreciate the fact they help control real garden pests such as greenfly.
