In 2007 the Sci-Fi Channel brought us a great re-imagining of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Tin Man starred Zooey Deschanel and was directed by Nick Willing.
This year Willing is collaborating with Sci-Fi once more, to bring a brand new version of the classic Lewis Carroll books Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass before Tim Burton releases his Alice movie at the cinemas.
The miniseries is set to be broadcast sometime in December, an all-star cast has been assembled who are currently shooting in Vancouver. The part of Alice has gone to relative newcomer Caterina Scorsone, but the line-up boasts stars from a wide range of film and TV shows. Misery villain Kathy Bates plays the evil Queen of Hearts, with Star Trek DS9‘s Colm Meaney playing her King.
Rocky Horror legend Tim Curry plays Dodo, and Max Headroom star Matt Frewer plays a White Knight. Other cast members include Primeval star Andrew-Lee Potts in a role he hopes will help him break America. Potts plays Hatter, a contemporary Mad Hatter from the original story.
