As crowds of supporters cheered him on Joey Chestnut held his title of World Champion Hot Dog Eater at yesterday’s Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest on Coney Island. Chestnut beat off stiff competition from his arch rival Takeru Kobayashi of Japan.

In a spectacular contest Kobayashi managed to beat the former world record set by Chestnut last year by eating 64.5 wieners in ten minutes, but Chestnut smashed his own record to set a brand new one of a staggering 68 sausages and buns in the set time limit.
