Jim Reeves Eats His Way To Hot Dog Final

Buffalo Jim Reeves has earned a place in the Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest at Coney Island by chomping his way through 22 wieners in under ten minutes at the Hot Dog Eating Contest held in Atlanta, GA yesterday.

Reeves from Boston, NY, who’s speciality is actually chicken wings will now face Sonya “The Black Widow” Thomas at the Coney Island eat-off. But he better get some practice in, The Black Widow’s result at Virginia earlier this month was a far more impressive 36 sausages gobbled, compared to Reeves’ 22. And greedy Sonya was disappointed with that result.

In his defence Reeves told reporters that he wasn’t used to the stifling Georgia heat, and aimed to do much better at the finals next month. But he still has a way to go if he wants to beat The Black Widow. To date Reeves’ personal best is still only 27 hot dogs.

But he’s just happy to be there, he told reporters that after a run of second place positions it felt great to finally be going to the Internationals at Coney Island.

After the Fourth of July International, Reeves intends concentrating on a few buffalo wing eating championships which are his field of expertise.
