DaleksA BBC insider has today leaked news that Matt Smith will face his deadliest foes the Daleks in his very first episode.

The insider told the Daily Star that when 26 year old Smith takes over as the Doctor next year his first adventure will be battling against the fascist mutants.

“They know fans will take a while to get used to Matt as The Doctor, so it makes sense to have him fight his most famous enemies. They always bring good ratings.”

As well as having to get used to a new Doctor, BBC bosses have also revealed that they plan to revamp the Tardis. In the new series which will be shown next spring the Tardis is rumoured to be having a new blue interior with white “windows”. The look is supposed to be similar to the original Tardis design from the 60s. Another rumoured throwback to the old Doctor Who shows involves the opening titles. When the show returns next year Matt Smith’s face will appear in the opening title sequence, a tradition which began with Patrick Troughton but hasn’t been used since Russell T Davies brought the show back with Christopher Eccleston as the famous time lord.
