Further to the acid attack which The Morningstarr* reported on last December, there have been two more attacks in the same Mong Kok region. One attack took place last month on 16th May which injured 30 people and now 24 more people have been injured in an attack today. One of the victims is only four years old

After the May attack the police put forward an £8,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the phantom acid flinger. Today that reward has been increased to over £10,000.

In all three attacks bottles of a corrosive liquid were thrown from rooftops in the Mong Kok shopping district of Hong Kong. Fortunately no one has been seriously injured, but victims have suffered burns to their clothes, skin and eyes.

Police superintendent Edward Leung has told the South China Morning Post that he believes it is the same individual responsible for each attack, and if captured the attacker could face life in prison.
