Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Who.

Before David Tennant sees out his contract as the Doctor there will be three weddings in the Doctor Who universe, for three of the Doctor’s past assistants.

The Sun reports this morning that the Doctor’s former assistant Rose Tyler, played by Billie Piper, will be seen marrying the clone Doctor that she was left with in an alternate reality at the end of the show’s last season. But even more surprisingly Martha Jones (Freema Agyeman), who stepped into Rose Tyler’s boots when Billie Piper left the show didn’t just steal Rose’s place in the Tardis it seems she also stole her ex-boyfriend. No not the Doctor, Mickey Smith (Noel Clarke).

Both these weddings will be seen in the forthcoming Doctor Who specials that will be broadcast around Christmas time, but a third wedding will also take place in the Doctor Who spin-off The Sarah Jane Adventures. The single mum, played by Elisabeth Sladen seems to have finally found true love.

In less romantic news a BBC insider has leaked information about one of the Doctor’s old enemies returning to test Matt Smith when he takes on the role next year.

“Fans won’t be disappointed by the new Doctor and they’re in for a treat with the new series, which will include the return of the ultra-scary Weeping Angels.”
