David Tennant Wants Who Movie Role

Despite the fact David Tennant will be ending his part as the Doctor this Christmas to hand over to Matt Smith, and the rumoured Doctor Who movie is still in the very early stages, BBC insiders have been revealing today that Tennant is being lined up to appear in the movie(s).

“The script is still in the early stages but he wants to be in the film. There have already been discussions and David needs to feel the story is right, but right now things are looking very positive.

“Potentially it’s a perfect scenario for him. He understandably wants to do different roles but still loves ‘Doctor Who’.

“If the film takes off and there’s demand for more, he can continue to play the Doctor occasionally without having the relentless pressure of the TV schedule.” The source told the Daily Express.

“It’s certainly feasible that David could be the Doctor on film while Matt does the series. As all fans know David’s story can easily be set in a different time to Matt’s. That’s one of the great things about the show – anything can happen.” They insisted.

We can confirm that Tennant will be appearing in two episodes of Doctor Who spin off,The Sarah Jane Adventures in September.

“Viewers thought they may have to wait until November for the next full episode of Doctor Who, but this is an extra special treat,” Russell T Davies said.

“And it’s not just a cameo from David – this is a full-on appearance for the Doctor as he and Sarah Jane face their biggest threat ever.”

Sarah Jane, as most Who fans will already know was the Doctor’s assistant in the 1970s alongside both Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker, and is played by actress Elisabeth Sladen.

“When I heard the news that David was going to be joining us I was absolutely over the moon,” she said. “Not only has it made my day but it will also make the viewers’ day.

“It’s fantastic news that Sarah Jane is going to spend some time working with The Doctor again and is testament to just how successful this CBBC series is.”

The next series of The Sarah Jane Adventures promises the return of the Judoon, a rhino-like alien race who police the universe and have featured in two previous Sarah Jane and Doctor Who story lines.
