DollhouseJoss Whedon fans can breathe a sigh of relief, despite the slump in viewing figures Fox have agreed to a second season of Dollhouse which will be broadcast in the autumn.

The show, which stars former Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress Eliza Dushku is yet to air in the UK, but the chimes of doom were already sounding in the US where the majority of pundits had already written the show off due to low ratings. However, Fox have agreed to a second season but with a budget cut and have only agreed to another 13 episodes at the moment. The good news is due to the large interest from people streaming the show to their computers and a huge pre-order on DVDs.

The show focuses around Dushku’s character, Echo who is part of a group of agents known as “Dolls”. They have blank personalities and are reprogrammed with a different persona depending on which assignments they are given.

The rights to the show have been bought by the Sci-Fi Channel and will begin being shown next Tuesday 19th May at 21:00.

The official announcement will be made by Fox on Monday, and there will also be an announcement on whether Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles has avoided the axe.
