Warner Brothers have announced who will be producing their forthcoming movie adaptation of the ITV dinosaur show Primeval.
The news was announced at the Cannes Film Festival this week that Angels and Demons writer Akiva Goldsman will be producing the film, together with Kerry Foster who is currently producing the Megan Fox movie Jonah Hex. Goldsman won’t be writing the script for the movie himself, he will be hiring another writer.
Foster told Variety magazine that Primeval had all the makings for a smash hit.
“There is a solid mythology to the series, but the movie has the dinosaur element of ‘Jurassic Park’ and the time travel element of ‘Lost,’ and it just feels like the kind of big movie that Warner Bros. does well”
This week the Primeval production company, Impossible Pictures will continue to pitch the concept of a US television version of the hit show. Primeval is currently airing it’s third season on ITV in the UK and the third season begins on Saturday night on BBC America in the States.
