Teenager confessed to murder and necrophilia

18 year old Alexander Paul Pacheco appeared in a Denver court today for a preliminary hearing of his murder trial.

In October 2008 Pacheco’s 13 year old girlfriend Kelsey Shannon went missing, assumed a runaway, but in January this year her dead body was discovered and identified. Detective Chris Kearns today told the court that Pacheco had admitted to his close friends that he had killed Shannon. It is alleged that Pacheco told his friends that he had strangled the 13 year old to death, and then stabbed her in the throat with a blade to make sure. He took his friends to the site where he had dumped his girlfriends body to show them, he also retrieved a used condom and explained he had had sexual intercourse with the girl’s corpse.

Pacheco’s defence team deny that the confession took place, and that the cause of death had not been determined.

Pacheco is charged with first-degree murder, child-abuse resulting in death and abuse of a corpse.
