Voodoo priest steals grandmother’s head

Magistrates in Ghana heard today how a Voodoo witch doctor allegedly broke into his own grandmother’s grave and took her head.

31 year old Kudjo Movi, from Suhum in eastern Ghana told his uncle on 27th April that he had been approached by someone wishing to obtain a severed head. Two days later witnesses discovered the tomb of his grandmother, Madam Abla Kumodzi had been broken into, her coffin opened and her head removed. Madam Kumodzi had died two months earlier at the age of 80.

The case continues and Movi will appear again in court on 21st May. The missing head has not been located.
